Description

The Bachelor of Arts (Visual Arts) will equip you with comprehensive skills and knowledge to develop yourself as a professional artist.

The Bachelor of Arts (Visual Arts) offers a range of media and methods with major studies in painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking and photo media. Students will then complete introductory studio studies in the first year, then focus upon a principal discipline in their studio work.

Students will undertake individual learning plans designed to expand and enhance their creativity. The focus will be on enabling you to explore traditional and contemporary ideas and approaches.

The Bachelor of Arts (Visual Arts) offers studio work, critical analysis, studies in art history and theory – including approaches to environmental arts – and also covers business and gallery practice. Final year students will stage a professional exhibition with full support material.

Bachelor of Arts (Visual Arts) graduates will be multi-skilled and critcally informed art professionals, capable of establishing exhibition careers, competing for state and federal funding, and undertaking postgraduate work.

This course is based at the Gordon’s City Campus, Fenwick St, Geelong and is delivered by the School of Art, Design and ICT.
